Rita’s Sweet 16
Talia’s Graduation Party
I shot Talia’s graduation party a month ago, but I’ve been so busy I have not had a chance to blog as much as I’d like to. Its time for me to start catching up…
Everything in Talia’s graduation party fit her hand picked children theme from the cake down to her custom made dress garnished with toys.
Below are a few shots; You can see the entire event here.

A New Session at the Canoga Park Youth Arts Center
A new session has begun at the CPYAC and I’m very excited. Looks like I have amazing groups of students in both my Friday and Saturday classes. I cant wait to see their photography. Here are some shots I took of our first day of class when I introduced them to shooting portraits using natural lighting.

David and Sonja’s Wedding
David and Sonja’s wedding broke the mold of a conventional wedding going from a simple ceremony at the Santa Monica Pier to partying at the standard hotel downtown. I appreciated being a part of such an intimate wedding and as always felt privileged to be a part of one of the biggest days of their lives. Also, it was very cool having the opportunity to photograph the couple with the Los Angeles cityscape as a background.

AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School
Saturday I photographed Imaginarium, a fundraising banquet at AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School. The ladies of the PTO that organized the event did an amazing job in trasnforming the schools gymnasium into this:
Although I’ve photographed lots of events, I have rarely seen people dance as hard as they did at Imaginarium and thought it was definitely worth a post.

Dana J. Vito
Recently I had the opportunity to photograph Dana J. Vito.
Dana, a twenty-year-old college student at UCLA, has rheumatoid arthritis- a long-term disease that leads to inflammation of the joints and surrounding tissues. Symptoms include: fatigue, weakness, wide spread muscle aches, and stiffness.
Despite all this, Dana runs every day and is the manager of Santa Monica City College’s running club.
UCLA offered Dana a spot on their running team, but she prefers to run solely for enjoyment.
I happened to photograph her on one of her lighter training days and it included hundreds of sit-ups and a five-mile run.
Personally, I respect anyone that commits to any training no matter what their athletic pursuit is, but to see someone so committed who is up against such a tough obstacle is inspiring.
To her, I don’t even think rheumatoid arthritis is an issue. She just does what she does, loves it, and never complains.
